India Post GDS Salary Structure
India Post GDS employees receive Time-Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) along with Dearness Allowance (DA). The initial salary slabs are:

Educational Qualification
- Candidates must have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) with Mathematics and English as subjects from a recognized board.
- Must have studied the local language of the state up to Class 10.

Selection Process
1. Merit-Based Selection
- The selection is purely based on marks obtained in the 10th standard.
- No written exam or interview.
- Marks will be calculated up to 4 decimal places to determine merit.
2. Document Verification
Shortlisted candidates must present original documents, including:

- Caste/EWS Certificate (if applicable)

Post-Wise Job Responsibilities
1. Branch Postmaster (BPM)
- Managing day-to-day postal operations of the Branch Post Office (B.O).
- Handling India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) transactions.
- Marketing and promoting postal products and services.
- Ensuring smooth operation of mail delivery and dispatch.
- BPMs must arrange accommodation for the Branch Post Office.
2. Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)
- Assisting BPM in daily operations.
- Sale of stamps and stationery.
- Doorstep mail delivery and handling of deposits/payments.
- Marketing and customer support.
- ABPMs must reside within the jurisdiction of the Post Office.
3. Dak Sevak
- Handling mail dispatch, sorting, and delivery.
- Selling postal products such as stamps and stationery.
- Assisting in the smooth functioning of Post Offices and Railway Mail Services (RMS).
- Dak Sevaks must reside within their designated delivery area.
